Alium were appointed as QS to provide initial cost plans and agree the budget for the fit out of a new industrial unit located on the iPort business park in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
The works comprise fitting out and alterations to provide office accommodation plus extensive works to the warehouse area. Works include the installation of a fire resistant wall to save the requirement for providing fire sprinklers to the entire 260,000ft2 building.
Alium carried out the tender and recommended the preferred contractor to undertake the works. Works are scheduled to commence on site in March 2025 and complete by July 2025 in readiness for full operation by the tenant in September 2025.

Alium were appointed as Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor, and Contract Administrator for the refurbishment of the Grade II listed Great Western Hotel in Taunton, located adjacent to Taunton railway station.
The scheme provides 15 individually styled bedrooms named after former Somerset stations, a flexible venue space, a café lounge, and nine rentable office suites.
Procurement was delivered via a package management approach, engaging experienced specialists and approved YMCA contractors.
Conservation works included the careful removal of modern paint layers to reveal and restore the building’s original façade – uncovering an historic hand-painted sign that has been refreshed and proudly reinstated.
